Department of Veterans Affairs’ VINCI Program Recognized with FedHealthIT Innovation Award

ARLINGTON, Va., March 11, 2020 – Halfaker and Associates, LLC, a technology solutions provider that supports the Federal Government’s health, intelligence, defense, and security sectors is proud to announce that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Informatics and Computing Infrastructure (VINCI) Program received a 2020 FedHealthIT Innovation Award! This award program honors and recognizes the top federal health programs that drive innovation and deliver real results in support of their departments’ missions.

VINCI enables VA to leverage the millions of pieces of data it captures in the largest clinical database in the world to support life-saving research and improve health outcomes for Veterans. The VINCI program’s mission balances respecting the personal and private information of veterans and allowing researchers to work on life-saving research. Using innovative technologies, the VA has supported over 2,000 medical studies on a wide array of medical issues while maintaining the privacy of Veterans’ health data. The VA’s robust VINCI environment can support over 10,000 users running complex analytics against 4.3PB of data, which grows by nearly 10TB annually. As a result, researchers have been able to quickly identify new methods and procedures to improve clinical outcomes of those who proudly serve our nation.

“I’m pleased to see the VA recognized for this innovative program that helps advance the research that will improve the health of our Veterans,” said Halfaker and Associates CEO Dawn Halfaker. “I’m honored that Halfaker can support this program and support the VA’s mission.”
