Arlington, VA., January 19, 2017 – Halfaker and Associates, LLC (Halfaker), a technology solutions provider within the Federal Government’s, health, intelligence, defense and security sectors, was awarded a task order under the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology Next Generation (T4NG) contract vehicle supporting the Community Care Program (CCP). Halfaker will work with VA’s Office of Information and Technology (OI&T), Enterprise Program Management Office (ePMO) to support them in creating a unified and seamless CCP through the consolidation and streamlining of several ongoing and future programs and IT projects. The task order has a nine-month base period of performance plus two option years and a value of just over $29 million.

A key component of VA strategy to shift to a Veteran-centric paradigm is to improve access to and understanding of VA-sponsored care options available to Veterans and their families. The CCP was established to improve Veterans access to care by making it easier for Veterans to receive private care should an appointment take too long to get scheduled at a VA Medical Center or if the distance to a VA facility is too far away. Halfaker will work with VA OI&T to provide a variety of program management support as well as systems engineering, system architecture and design, Human Centered Design, interoperability design, and system prototyping for the CCP.
