Joseph Freet serves as Halfaker’s Vice President, Defense and Intel Operations and is a proven leader with over 13 years of managerial experience as both a US Army Officer and Federal Government Contractor. At Halfaker, he leads the successful execution of the Company’s Defense and Intelligence accounts to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
Joseph joined Halfaker in 2011 as a Senior Intelligence Analyst supporting the Army Threat Integration Center (ARTIC) where he provided intelligence-related analysis of trends for Terrorism Indication and Warning, the Army Protection program, and other defense intelligence initiatives. Due to his knowledge and leadership skills, Joe was quickly promoted to Project Manager and ultimately Program Manager overseeing a diverse portfolio consisting of over 10 defense and intelligence related projects.
Prior to joining Halfaker, Joseph served 5 years as a Military Intelligence Officer at the National Ground Intelligence Center while assigned to the Irregular Warfare Division (IrW). He actively developed all-source intelligence products in support of Special Operations Forces engaged in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). In addition to his Army service, Joseph worked as a Senior Analyst and Embedded Mentor with the Distributed Common Ground System – Army (DCGS-A) program. The role required extensive traveling in support of US Army and Special Operations Forces to locations which included Iraq, Afghanistan, EUCOM, Kosovo and Korea.
Joseph holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical and Scientific Communications with a Minor in Military Leadership from James Madison University. Joseph is also a graduate of the Military Intelligence Captain’s Career Course, Military Intelligence Officer’s Basic Course and the Defense Strategic Debriefer’s Course.
