Michael King is Halfaker’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) who brings more than 15 years of experience in systems engineering, program management experience, and security strategy within the Federal contracting industry. In this role, he is responsible for establishing and maintaining the Company’s enterprise-wide IT Strategy with a focus on continuous employee experience improvements, overseeing the Company’s information security program, and overseeing the enterprise Quality Management System with a focus on driving improvements in engineering maturity and customer experience. He has previously served at Halfaker as the Director of Contracts and Operations, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Technology Officer.
Prior to joining Halfaker, Michael completed a five-year tenure at Lockheed Martin within their Critical Infrastructure Protection group. In addition to leading systems architecture and engineering efforts focused on video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and identity management, Michael provided project and subcontract management across several projects.
Michael holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA and a Master’s in Information Systems and Technology from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. His professional certifications include PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe SA, and ITIL Foundations.
