Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer, with extensive experience using Ruby on Rails, to lead 1 of 3 agile scrum teams on this project focused on building a social networking tool to support the small business government contracting community.  This tool will better organize and target business opportunities and help reduce the chaos many stakeholders experience when they attend conferences or networking events looking to connect with teaming partners or clients within the government contracting industry.

The tool will allow for dynamic and interactive networking for several end user groups including:

• Government procurement representatives looking for small businesses to fulfill contracting opportunities
• Small businesses interested in finding potential clients and teaming partners
• Large businesses searching for small business partners to build strategic relationships

We built a pilot of this tool in 2011 on a stack of Ruby on Rails, Heroku, and github, and are planning to add some significant enhancements in 2012. 

We are looking for a strong software leader, proficient in Ruby on Rails and with significant experience in agile development methods who can lead this team to create elegant solutions to accommodate a list of complex needs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a 3-5 person team in agile scrum-based development
• Manage a team that will include people working remotely across the country
• Break down complex projects into clear tasks and specs
• Create innovative solutions for client priorities
