Halfaker has an immediate opportunity for an Test Engineer with testing experience and expertise to join our talented, dynamic team to support the Army Publishing Directorate (APD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and performing a project test strategy and test scripts.
  • Required to gain a basic technical understanding of the project to achieve the greatest possible testing coverage.
  • Gathers and tests requirements for new features and transition of legacy applications to an updated application architecture.
  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
  • Participates in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and test tools selection.
  • Experience writing test cases, test plans and execution of test plans.
  • Assists in the designs, implementation, and testing evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports.
  • Participates in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and test tools selection.
Requirements: 

Requirements:

  • 2 years of Experience in developing and implementing testing solutions/frameworks that project teams integrate into their development.
  • Secret or higher security clearance
  • Experience conducting usability testing with analysis of qualitative and quantitative metrics to determine end-user goals, needs, and behaviors.
  • Experience with IBM Cognos, Adobe LiveCycle, or EMC Documentum.
  • Experience working in web based technologies (.net, ASP, PHP, VBScript, Python, and Ruby) web servers (Phusion, Apache, IIS), queries and databases (SQL).
  • Familiarity with all testing varieties including: unit testing, functional testing, device/browser testing, regression testing, integration testing, security testing, performance testing, usability testing.
  • Experience developing and maintaining test logs.
  • Ability to analyze test results and provide recommendations for performance enhancement.
  • Must be US Citizen

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical field
  • 3+ years of relevant testing experience
  • Secret or higher security clearance
  • Familiarity with  Army Publication Directorate (APD) 
  • Experience and knowledge of testing within Agile development methodology, processes, and procedures, particularly Scrum, Story-Driven Methodology, Burn-up and Burn-down charts, and Velocity Tracking and  Databases (Oracle, DB2).
  • Experience with manual and automated testing tools
  • Technical writing experience
  • Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with modern test-engineering processes, including continuous integration, version control, and issue tracking.
  • Proficiency with debuggers and profiling tools

Halfaker has an immediate opportunity for a Juinor Associate to join our talented, dynamic team supporting one of our customer’s cutting edge government acqusition office.  This individual will be focused on contract closeouts.  The ideal candidate will fully understand how the DoD negotiates, executes and administers contracts and modifications for materials and services necessary to enable the DoD Mission. The junior associate will provide reliable support with limited supervision and manages own schedule and performance with minimal guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete tasks required for contract process from acquisition through closeout within the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) mandated timeframes
  • Perform closeout planning and devise strategies to verify contract completion
  • Confirm all closeout actions and resolve any outstanding issues
  • Perform outreach and liaison activities with internal offices and external entities in DoD, universities and research centers, and research and development companies
  • Review contract files, compile and analyze information and document contract files
  • Obtain all forms, reports and clearances such as final patent, royalties, and property clearances from various sources as applicable to closeout
  • Understand and know how to use a number of acquisition related systems to obtain the necessary information you need: Wide area workflow (WAWF), Federal Procurement Data System Next Generation (FPDS-NG),Procurement Desktop Defense (PD2) information technology system, etc
Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred
  • Skill in the use of various types of office automation to include: Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and SharePoint
  • Experience working on multiple projects concurrently within deadlines while ensuring that complex information is conveyed in a clear, accurate and concise manner under normal and in crisis situations
  • Previous administrative, customer service experience with strong telephone etiquette
  • Ability to work independently

Halfaker has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Systems Administrator with broad knowledge of systems administration/analysis concepts, practices and procedures to join our talented, dynamic team and support the TSA’s Office of Information Technology (TSA-OIT).  A successful candidate is competent to work on fairly complex assignments and perform a standard range of AIX/RHEL system administration activities. The Senior Systems Administrator generally works under deadlines and is capable of operating with only general supervision. Possess familiarity with varied administrator concepts, standard best business practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity is encouraged. Typically Reports to systems a Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply best practices where possible or engineer new best practices as appropriate.
  • Analyze new and existing vendor software; install, maintain, and customize vendor software as required.
  • Consult with end users to identify current operational procedures and clarify user objectives.
  • Monitor system and application performance to detect errors; apply testing procedures/methodologies (e.g., diagnostic software) and provide interpretation of data.
  • Provide a root-cause analysis for recurring or critical problem
  • Proficiency using personal computer and associated work station/computer-assisted tools, etc.
  • Demonstrate commitment to providing customer-focused quality service.
Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:

  • A 4-year degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of AIX/RHEL systems administration experience, or equivalent experience. Education can be substituted for 9 years of experience
  • Experience with AIX 7.15.3 and 6.1 and RHEL 5.6 or later, performance monitoring and tuning tools, installation options, problem determination and recovery, and AIX security
  • Experience with Power5 and or Power6IBM Power architectures, X-series and Bladecenter server technology.including LPAR technology and HMCs
  • Experience writing and debugging shell scripts in a standard UNIX shell

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with NIM and satellite server
  • Experience with AIX/RHEL performance tuning and capacity planning
  • Experience with VIO and managing VIO servers
  • Experience with high availability architectures and concepts (possibly including, but not limited to, HACMP/PowerHA)
  • Experience with enterprise backup/restore architectures and concepts including TSM
  • IBM/Brocade SAN architecture (DS8000, Brocade DCX)
