Halfaker is seeking a Systems Architect to join our talented, dynamic team. The Systems Architect will support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) by providing technical support and leadership in system architecture, system design, system integration, and technical management. Specifically, the Systems Architect will be responsible for leading system architecture activities related to enterprise architecture for a mission critical application suite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead systems architecture activities related to specific components of the CBP CSP application suite
  • Create and communicate system design and architecture solutions
  • Participate in daily Scrum meetings and weekly Scrum-of-Scrums meetings
  • Work with other contractor and Government teams to develop and document system architecture in compliance with established standards
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools in support of Agile software development
Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Masters's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with enterprise architecture for large scale systems using open source and Java technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Java design patterns, coding standards, best practices, and implementing prototypes and proof of concept
  • Hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using agile software development methdology such as Scrum and Java Open source technologies using the Atlassian tool suite
  • Familiarity with SAFe concepts such as ART, HIP, and RTE for managing large-scale agile implementations
  • Experience with web services, data exchange protocols, business rules, workflows, batch processing, and data conversion  tools
  • Strong leadership and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to obtain a CBP Clearence

  • Develops timelines and link charts and prepares written and verbal assessments based on current events.
  • Applies focused analysis geared toward the investigation and prosecution of terrorist and war crimes cases.
  • Produces responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and finished and strategic criminal intelligence assessments.
Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in intelligence analysis or criminal intelligence analysis required
  • Military or law enforcement background preferred
  • Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with CITF, CID, OSI or NCIS preferred
  • Skilled in the use of intelligence tools including: Palantir, Analyst Notebook, TAC, HOT-R, M3 and / or similar network analysis and message dissemination systems is required
  • Knowledge of terrorist networks, counter-threat finance, war-crimes, detainee operations, and criminal operations
  • Knowledge of and experience with military criminal investigative processes
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to review, analyze, compile, and  prepare reports and documents quickly
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to brief senior level military and civilian officials
  • Ability to work in both individual assignments and in a collaborative team environment

Halfaker has an immediate opportunity for a Network Administrator with experience in managing, monitoring and configuring the routine operations and maintenance of computer systems in a variety of different networks to include high volume/high, high availability systems to join our talented, dynamic team and support the VA.  The ideal candidate will have experience responding and resolving problems quickly.  Must have the skills to implement agency policy regarding computer access and implement firewalls.

Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline.
  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Experience with Cisco routing/switching equipment as well as incorporating Cisco firewalls into a large, diverse network
  • Demonstrable ability to configure a Cisco router/switch/firewall via command line interface
  • Knowledge of multi-area OSPF, BGP and MPLS environments
  • Knowledge of Site-to-Site VPNs utilizing Cisco firewalls and/or routers, IPSEC
  • Resolves issues by providing troubleshooting and network problem resolution
  • Experience using packet capture and analysis software to assist with troubleshooting efforts
  • Participate in technical reviews and recommend solutions and improvements
  • Maintain existing NSOC processes and procedures and provide input for new processes and procedures
  • Optimizes network integrity by monitoring performance and resource re-allocation
  • Demonstrable ability to organize/manage assigned projects with minimal oversight and follow established operational procedures
  • Remote Access solutions and understanding of certificates and how they are applied to these environments
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and related systems.
  • CCNA preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience for junior level openings, 5+ years of relevant experience in network management/ telecommunications industry (DoD or Government environment preferred)
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be a citizen and be able to hold a security clearance. You do not need a current/active clearance to apply, but must be able to pass a government security background investigation.
