Description: 

Halfaker has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our talented, dynamic team. The Sr. Staff Accountant will report to the Vice President for Finance and Accounting and support the Finance and Accounting Department by maintaining accounting records, providing financial reporting and following a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly account schedules
  • Produce monthly invoices
  • Vendor/Client ID  Set up
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • 401(k) Plan transfers and audits   
  • Process payroll on a twice a month basis
  • Liaison to payroll company for tax issues and payroll processing
  • Reconciliations, analysis, and ad hoc reports
  • Assist in month end close
  • Journal entries and analysis
  • Indirect cost allocation prep and posting
  • Invoice tracking and timely submits monthly statements to client
  • Accounts receivable reconciliations and review
  • Deferred revenue reconciliations and analytical review
  • Various accrued expense reconciliations
  • Various accounting research and reporting projects
  • Maintain the general ledger currently operating on Deltek GCS software and filing system
  • Maintain and document accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure invoices are processed in a timely manner and collected promptly in accordance with the terms of the contract
  • Assist with production and analysis of company and project budgets
  • Provide financial analysis as requested
  • Assist with annual audit
Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:

 Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 4-6 years public or private accounting experience
  • Candidate should possess analytical ability, and good communications skills.
  • The ability to learn and interact with other professionals
  • Ability to perform and work as part of a team
  • Proficient in Deltek GCS
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and EXCEL required
  • Keen attention to detail

 Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Government Contract Accounting and DCAA

Halfaker has an immediate opportunity for a Contracts Acquisition Specialist with contracts closeout expertise to join our talented, dynamic team and support the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), by supporting the Contracts Management Office (CMO). The ideal candidate will fully understand how the agency negotiates, executes and administers contracts and modifications thereto for materials and services necessary to conduct DARPA programs and projects. The responsibilities include all contract closeout support required by the CMO and ensuring the successful execution of all assigned Statement of Work tasks. The Associate will provide reliable support with limited supervision and manages own schedule and performance with minimal guidance.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete tasks required for contract closeout within the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) mandated timeframes
  • Reconcile contracts and provide a valid contract balances at the detailed level.
  • Perform closeout planning and devise strategies to verify contract completion
  • Confirm all closeout actions and resolve any outstanding issues
  • Perform outreach and liaison activities with internal Technical Offices and external entities in DoD, universities and research centers, and research and development companies
  • Review contract files, compile and analyze information and document contract files
  • Obtain all forms, reports and clearances such as final patent, royalties, and property clearances from various sources as applicable to closeout
Requirements: 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Skill in the use of various types of office automation to include: Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Access)
  • Experience working on multiple projects concurrently within deadlines while ensuring that complex information is conveyed in a clear, accurate and concise manner under normal and in crisis situations
  • Previous administrative, customer service experience with strong telephone etiquette
  • Ability to work independently
  • Enthusiasm and desire to learn highly valued
  • Ability to move up to 20lbs of paper
  • Top performer who meets/exceeds goals
